Prince Edward County has so much to explore and offer.
One of the perks of this little piece of paradise is the vast
array of beaches. One of my top asked for locations when photographing lifestyle sessions.
Whether you're here for a weekend getaway or a week of slow mornings and lake days, Prince Edward County has a beach for every kind of adventure.
Some are wide open with soft sand and rolling dunes. Others are tucked away and quiet, perfect for watching the sunset or skipping stones along the shoreline. No matter which you choose, you're never far from the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer.

Sandbanks Provincial Park
The most iconic beach in Prince Edward County for good reason.
Sandbanks offers expansive sandy beaches, shallow water, and beautiful golden light in the evening.
It can be busy during the summer months, but the size of the park means there's almost always a quieter stretch to wander.
Best for: Families, couples, maternity, sunset sessions, swimming.
Good to know:
Day pass or reservation required during peak season.
Arrive early if you're visiting during July or August.
If swimming be aware there are no lifeguards and it's always best to have a life jacket on.
North Beach Provincial Park
A quieter alternative to Sandbanks with beautiful views of Lake Ontario.
North Beach has soft sand, rolling grasses, and a more relaxed atmosphere. It's especially beautiful later in the day when the light softens across the shoreline.
Best for: Couples, families, quieter beach days
Good to know:
Less crowded than Sandbanks.
Day pass required.
If swimming be aware of the currents and how powerful they are on the Lake Ontario side of the beach. No lifeguards.
Wellington Rotary Beach
Located right in the heart of Wellington
This small beach is easy to access and perfect for families with young children.
The calm shoreline, nearby restaurants, and walking paths make it a great place to spend an afternoon before grabbing ice cream at The Old Greenhouse Ice Cream Shop or dinner at Midtown Brewing Company.
Best for: Families, young children, proposals, couples, relaxed evenings.

Dunes Beach

Part of Sandbanks Provincial Park, Dunes Beach offers a stunning backdrop of rolling sand dunes and long stretches of shoreline.
